DAY 10 (18.05.2026)
(Exquisite Corpse) We got into the bus; there was a HUGE spider hanging off the back of the seat. It kept dangling between my legs then would scurry back up. So, I unzipped my pants and put it inside. I felt it pulsating; it was stimulating. My heart sinking; those words made my blood boil. They are not allowed a private beach party! I wanted to throw them out to the sea—out to the fish, or maybe throw them to the cow in its pasture. Gliding through pastures in a fancy tour b

DAY 08 (16.05.2026)
Rain Day It poured rain the entire day. We huddled in our rooms, worked in the studio, wrote in journals and on computers; Maggie camped out in the theatre drinking tea. We met at 5:00pm for artist talks (which were GREAT!). Some people escaped at 7 for a walk after the rain stopped. Then we ate our weight in pasta. Now you know everything that happened on May 16th, 2026.

DAY 07 (15.05.2026)
(Chiara) Here, while I was walking, I felt a snow memory. There isn't any snow. I can't tell if the memory is mine or if it's the mountain's memory. I feel it in the glacial air, which contains ice particles. I feel it in my overheated body after the climb, in contrast with the cold air, so maybe the memory is all mine, because it brings me back to when I was a child. We went skiing and the feeling was the same: the body was heated by the warm clothes and the movement. Only m

DAY 06 (14.05.2026)
(Irene) “It was a good day for it, sunny and warm, the sky a crisp blue, clouds doing their best to look picturesque and fluffy. We set off, full of camaraderie and beautiful minds. Our destination the village of Farsa, across the bay. Our mission, to search for threshing floors. (More on that later). We drove around the Koutavos lagoon to the other side of the bridge, (it’s a causeway) and past the town Cemetry, Drapano. In the old days in Argostoli, a euphemism for dying wa

DAY 05 (13.05.2026)
(Aynslee and Katie) This morning began with reclaim- everything begins with reclaim… Katie and I (mainly Katie) carried a larger discarded tarp back to the house so we could spread out the growing amount of slip collecting in buckets over the past few days. Together we poured the thick clay across the surface, flattening and evening it out with our hands so it could settle consistently beneath the heat. The process took nearly an hour- repetitive and physical. Reclaiming cl

DAY 04 (12.05.2026)

DAY 03 (11.05.2026)
(Tom, Matt, Maggie, Chiara) Maggie inserted the endoscope into the Interior Live Oak. The rest of us crowded around. It was our first moment of co-creation on the slopes of Mt. Ainos, an icebreaker of sorts en route to an old monastery. “It felt tender,” Maggie says. From then on, we were primed for further collaboration as our hike continued. The spirit of a horse overtook us. Matt whinnied softly, and the threshold was broken. Inside threshing circles, straddling ce

DAY 01 (09.05.2026)
(Kurtis) Today was a steady accumulation of both food and participants: every meal there were more people and more discussion. Already thinking and ideas for making are unfolding. The field school is inspired by The Animal That Therefore I Am by Jacques Derrida. Derrida’s text begins with a simple but destabilizing scene: being seen naked by an animal. Not observing, but being exposed—caught before one can frame, name, or justify. As we move through the environs of Kefalonia,
